Samsung released its new budget friendly smart phone, the Galaxy Gio. The new phone is smaller in size in comparison to the other galaxy line up smart phones. The phone is quite handy to use with Android Froyo and great applications to use. The phone is enough to satisfy anyone looking for a low to mid end smart phone.
Design
The new Galaxy Gio is a small yet beautiful mobile phone with a nice slick design. The candy bar design has more round edges, which make it easier to handle. The phone stands 4.4 inches tall and 2.3 inches wide. The phone is quite slim with just 1.2 inches in thickness. This accounts to light weightiness of the mobile, weighing only 102 gram. The mobile has a bit plastic feeling, but it could be the reason for the lower price. However, the small size and the light weight allow a good grip on the phone, and the phone easily slips into the pockets as well.
Screen Body Features
The phone has just a 3.2 inches TFT screen. Even though the screen is small, the 320 x 480 QVGA pixel resolution display gives a nice viewing experience. The display is quite bright and has a support of 16 million colours. The images look vibrant and sharp, while the text is easy to read. The small-screen size does not allow compromise in the navigation on the web pages, as the web browser in the phone has small texts option and Flash Player support available. One can enjoy a good viewing experience of movies and online video clips.
Body Features
The screen has capacitive sensors, with a powerful accelerometer as well. One can get used to the touch response of the phone easily, while the display mode changes from portrait mode to the landscape movements in a snap. There are four touch sensitive buttons below the display which are used for messaging, contacts, calls and keyboard. There are four customizable home screens as well. There are many tactile buttons on the phone as well as some ports. There are three buttons for menu, back and home key. The volume rocker is on the left, while a power button and the MicroSD card slot are on the right. A3.5mm headset jack is at the top, while there is a multifunction jack at the bottom. The 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus and smile detection is at the back which allows video recording in QVGA mode.

The phone has a powerful combo of Android 2.2 Froyo and an 800 MHz Qualcomm Turbo processor. Even though the phone has a slower processor, the phone is still quite zippy. The Android OS is upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread OS as well.
