LG Optimus Black Looks And Design
In this age, most of the users look forward to slim phones. LG has done a great job in ensuring that Optimus Black LG is a sleek device so that it easily slips into pocket. With LG Optimus Black dimensions measuring 122x64x9.2 mm there is no problem in the phone slipping easily into your pocket. The rounded and smooth edges and corners of the phone help in solid gripping of the device. The phone is quite light weighing just under 110 grams. Despite the sleek nature of the phone, it feels robust while being held.
LG Optimus Black Display
The 4 inches IPS LCD capacitive touch screen of the phone displays colors of resolution measuring 480×800 pixels. The screen is pretty good and the contrast displayed is excellent too.
We thought that sunlight legibility can be a problem but to our surprise we found sunlight legibility of the device to be decent enough. Viewing angles are an issue with the display. Beneath the display we found the usual Menu, Home, Back and Search control buttons. The volume rocker button is placed on the left hand side of the phone while on the top you get the 3.5 mm audio jack.
LG Optimus Black Features
LG Optimus Black runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo). Though we would have loved the device to be equipped with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) yet Froyo offers many features. The customizations of the UI are pretty good and the notification area boasts of 5 switches along with music player controls. The phone also has several apps like Google search, Gmail, Google Talk etc.
LG Optimus Black Gallery
The gallery of LG Optimus Black P970 uses a standard Android gallery which automatically locates images and videos wherever they are stored. There are also options available in the gallery via which you could crop or rotate an image and with the help of the send feature helps you to share photos via social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Picassa etc.
LG Optimus Black Connectivity And Multimedia
Connectivity is seamless with LG Optimus Black as the phone supports both 2G and 3G networks. There is support for GPRS, EDGE and thanks to Wi-Fi 802.11/b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 sharing of local files is a breeze. We were disappointed to find that the phone lacks Bluetooth 3.0 and HDMI port. There is an FM radio with RDS and the browser is one of the best in the markets. The browser of the device supports double tap and pinch zoom. The performance of the browser is enhanced by the presence of flash.
LG Optimus Black Camera Quality
The phone comes with a 5 MP camera which shoots images at 2592×1944 pixels. The performance of the camera is decent enough and boasts of advanced features like geo-tagging and touch focus. We were however a bit disappointed with the image quality. The images lacked details and contrast. However, the noise level of the camera is low.
LG Optimus Black Video
The phone is capable of recording 720p HD videos and we enjoyed the LG Optimus Black Youtube videos. Some of the video clips however were a bit messy.
