HTC Explorer-full-review-specifications-latest-price

HTC has been a frontrunner in the smartphone market, especially when it comes to the Android OS. It's no surprise then that its newest offering in this burgeoning space is the affordable HTC Explorer. Targeted at the entry-level customers, here is a phone that offers a somewhat powerful interior with a glitzy exterior.

The Bling Factor
The first thing you're bound to notice when you see the HTC Explorer is how it seems to be a clone of every other entry-level smartphone in the market. The rounded edges seem to be universal in nature. That is not to say that it doesn't look good. In fact, it is cute looking and its rubberised back fits snugly in your palm.
The best and most distinctive feature of the Explorer's design is the strip of gold that runs down its back, enveloping the camera lens. This gives the phone a classy edge. Additionally, snap-on covers in white, orange, purple, and blue are available. Pretty blingy, I say! For those who dislike flashy phones, there's also a variant without the gold strip.

Datawind Ubislate 7

The  Aakash tablet has finally gone on sale online. The ultra low-cost tablet is priced at Rs. 2,500, and comes with a delivery time of seven days. The Aakash tablet, previously nicknamed as Sakshat and touted as world’s cheapest tablet, is aimed at students and can be used for various functions. The 7-inch tablet however, has already been criticised for its slower processor and minimal features, especially when compared to the better-specced Aakash 2, which is due to be launched in January.

Perhaps DataWind, the maker of Aakash, aims to address its limitations with the launch of the Aakash 2, which for now is officially being called the UbiSlate 7 tablet, and has been priced at Rs. 2,999. DataWind has already started accepting pre-orders for the UbiSlate 7.

Both devices are expected to change current market dynamics, as they are already being pitted against other budget tablets in the market such as Reliance 3G Tab and Beetel Magiq.

Indian government’s ultra low-cost tablet ‘Aakash’ is finally in front of us. The official launch comes after nearly one year telecom minister Kapil Sibal flaunted a prototype of the device. Previously nicknamed as ‘Sakshat’, the Aakash is being touted as the “world’s cheapest tablet”.  The tablet is considered to be a significant accomplishment for the government, which believes the device will bridge the gap between the rural India and the ongoing technology boom in the country.  Of late we have got several queries regarding the new Aakash tablet, so we’ve decided to give you a Facts post, which will help you find answers to most of your queries.

Availability: The government will roll out 100,000 units of the Aakash tablet initially.  The details of the availability of the device are bit sketchy. The government says it will distribute the device to students through the institutions they are studying. So, best way to find out exact availability of Aakash tablet is to contact your concerned department of your college/institution.

Price: Well, the Aakash tablet will be available for students at a subsidised price of nearly Rs. 1,730. However, the exact price of the Aakash is nearly Rs. 2,276, which the government paid for its procurement. As per the official website, the Aakash tablet a.k.a UbiSlate will be commercially available at Rs. 2,500.
Plans: As per official website, UbiSlate will come with an unlimited mobile Internet (2 GB) at Rs.98/month.

Sony-Tablet-P-india-price-review-specs

The Sony P tablet folds into a smartphone sized box that makes it very easy to carry around. Sony P tablet has a silver and black body which gives it a very neat look. On the outsides the device has a metallic silver finish that protects it from smudges and fingerprints as well. The inside of the tablet has a piano black finish, which looks superb but is a fingerprint magnet and in our kind of climate it's very difficult to keep clean.

The device opens up into a mini tablet with a 5.5 inch display but divided in two parts. The device, when it is open, is slightly shorter than a normal 7 inch tablet but the bigger screen bands surrounding the screen provide ample space for thumbs to hold the tablet, thereby aiding usability as well.

Sony Tablet S-now-in-India-price-full-review-specs

It's an Android 3.2 Honeycomb device that is a little late to the party but offers some things the other Android tablet offerings don't, including a unique wedge-shaped design that makes the tablet much easier to hold vertically with one hand and creates a slight tilt when the device is placed flat horizontally on the table, making it easier to type.

But slight design tweaks can only take you so far. Sony has also realised that when it comes to mobile devices, software and content is just as important as hardware.

Apple's dominance is in large part due to the huge array of compelling apps on its App Store and the easy access to movies, music and other content through iTunes. Brands like Sony and Samsung have discovered that great content integration like this helps to sell lots more devices and both have rolled out digital content stores in Australia this year.

The back has raised bumps to aid your grip but the overall build quality feels a bit plastic-y.
Sony, with its movies and music arms, is perhaps best placed among the Android players to make a solid content play.

The Tablet S hooks into Sony's music streaming service, Music Unlimited, and its video services, Video Unlimited and Crackle.

Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 full-specs-current-price-review

Samsung Galaxy I9100 S II

Samsung Galaxy S2. For many of us, the best phone of 2011. And no wonder. We are talking about the worthy successor of the successful Samsung Galaxy S, a device that has taken Samsung around the world and turned it into a force able to dethrone the mighty Apple.

In this sense we can say that the new Samsung Galaxy S2 incorporates significant improvements regarding the screen but preserves the flawless Super AMOLED technology, we will see how this new terminal incorporates the Super AMOLED Plus variation, an enhanced and improved version of this technology owned by Samsung.

We must say, though, that the screen increases to 4.27 inches, spreading throughout much of the surface of the device. As if this were not enough, we note that the new Samsung Galaxy S2 is a connectivity beast that goes beyond meeting the expectations of the most demanding customers. Another significant development has to do with the fact that it incorporates a dual core processor and the Gingerbread Android 2.3 operating system as a standard feature.

Samsung Galaxy S I9000 full-specs-review-latest-price

Samsung I9000 Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S was announced in March of 2010 was a high-end feature packed phone during its day. This was the start of Samsung's global takeover and although this particular phone saw many iterations and variants here in the state and overseas, it's still simply known as the Galaxy S.
The Samsung Galaxy S has always been known for it's 1GHz Hummingbird processor. The GPU on this thing alone made it more than capable of handling almost any 3D game thrown at it. Other specs include a 5MP camera capable of recording some of the highest quality 720p HD video ever seen on a device and a 1.3MP front facing camera. It also came with a 4-inch 480x800 SAMOLED but strangely absent was any kind of LED flash. Also thrown in were 2 internal memory sizes, both an 8 GB and 16 GB version and at just 9.9mm thick, it was one of the thinnest Android phones available.
Samsung also pre-installed the phone with Swype - an incredibly fast typing method, & an office viewer for viewing and editing all your important documents, spreadsheets and the like. With the sleek design, eye-catching specs and international distribution, the Samsung Galaxy S was a global hit.

Samsung Omnia W-full-specs-price-india-full-review

A smartphone powered by Microsoft – and a pretty good one too. That is something you should get used to hearing, because the latest edition of Windows Phone OS (codenamed 'Mango') is here, and the Samsung Omnia W i8350 has it.

Importantly, India is one of the first markets to get the Omnia W, highlighting Samsung's commitment to our subcontinent. The phone itself is quite unassuming when switched off — just plain black, all-business and mostly plastic (except for the back cover, which is brushed metal). You can tell it's a Windows phone because of the Microsoft logo on the start/home button and a prominent Windows Phone logo at the back.

There are two capacitive buttons flanking the home button, a power button on the side (like Samsung's Galaxy range), a camera shutter, volume rocker, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio out. At the back is a 5MP camera with LED flash while a VGA camera up front does duty for video calls.
The phone has a 3.7-inch super AMOLED display – a size that gives you a good amount of screen real estate without making the phone itself too large. The screen offers fantastic colours, contrast and brightness and will easily outclass most other smartphone screens (except for something like the super amoled 'plus' screen on the Samsung Galaxy S II).

Samsung has included some apps to get you started — FunShot and Photo Studio for camera effects, Daily Briefing for news and weather updates and AllShare for DLNA multimedia sharing. Thanks to the 1.4Ghz processor and 512MB RAM, you will not experience any slowdowns.

Beetel Magiq Glide-tablet-full-specs-review-price-india

The Beetel has just now launched it’s yet another tablet in the Indian market dubbed as, “Magiq Glide.” As the name suggests the new tablet is launched under the previous line-up of Magiq tabs, and most of the features are preserved such as it still bears that old design and the new tablet also runs on that very outdated version of Android V2.2 popularly known as Froyo.
The new thing added is a faster 1 GHz processor, as previously Beetel has launched Magiq II with stripped down version of processor with 768 MHz while, the earlier version of Magiq was available with 1 GHz processor. Another noticeable new thing is a better capacitive touch is added by replacing the previous resistive type touchscreen display. Additionally, the Magiq Glide is also touted to be enhanced with SIM calling feature, but we’re not sure whether this is new functionality or it’s already existed in the previous version of Magiq.
Rest, it has a same 7-inch display unit, comes with 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage which, is easily expandable up to 16 GB via hot swappable micro-SD card. In the name of connectivity there’s already support for 3G up to 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi with Hotspot ability and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR.  On the rear end it’s still equipped with a rear facing 2 mega pixel Camera and the similar 2 MP  Cam is also mounted on its front end and lastly it’s fitted with the same 2,200 mAh battery.
The best price of Beetel Magiq Glide in India is Rs.11,999 and the tablet is expected to be available for sale within this month.

Nokia-Lumia-800-Windows-Smartphone-full-specs-price-in-india-review

Also known as Nokia Sea Ray

The Lumia 800 is crafted out of a single piece of polycarbonate and as a result is as light as a feather.

At the bottom of the Nokia Lumia 800, there's a speaker. We didn't hear the sound quality of the Nokia Lumia 800, and with the speaker's size, we don't expect it to pack the loudest sound, but at least the music can be heard whether you have the facing screen up or down.
There's the usual earphone jack at the top and a microUSB connection for charging and connecting to your computer.
he screen is a ClearBlack display and it's slightly domed. This makes it feel as though the Windows Phone interface is jumping out at you and feels all the better for it. However, it does attract fingerprints, as does the Lumia 800's whole finish.
Around the back and you'll find an 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera. Apparently, it lets more light in than other cameras. We didn't really see this (and we're not sure if it will be particularly handy), but the camera quality is top notch – as you'd expect from Nokia.
The thing most people are looking forward to with the Nokia Lumia 800 though is the Windows Phone operating system.

HTC-Rhyme-android-smartphone-full-specs-review-price-in-india

Design
The Rhyme doesn't break too far from the HTC mould when it comes to design. One glance and you'll recognise it as an HTC device, differing only slightly from the likes of the HTC Radar. It uses Some of HTC's unibody design approach, the biggest implication of which is that you can't access the battery. The metal body which surrounds the screen runs around the back of the phone, almost looking like a strap holding the thing together. The top of the back section is finished in plastic, to aid reception.

The bottom half of the back of the phone can be removed and is finished in a tactile material to aid grip. This slides off to reveal the SIM and microSD card slots, as well as concealing the Micro-USB connection with a flap. This isn't something that HTC normally do, but as we'll discuss later, they plan for you to dock the Rhyme to charge it, rather than fiddle with cables.

The corners and sides are nicely rounded, meaning the Rhyme sits nicely in the hand. Buttons and controls are conventionally placed for an HTC device, with volume on the right and the standby button on the top, along with the 3.5mm headphone jack. Across the bottom of the display you get four conventional Android controls: home, menu, back and search.

The curved top edge makes the HTC Rhyme a comfortable phone for holding against your ear when it comes to making calls, and we found that call quality was perfectly good, with no problems hearing callers. The external speaker is a little tinny and almost entirely muffled if you place the phone flat on a table.

The overall fit and finish gives a premium look - the glossy front and brushed metal finish on the back working together nicely. The four standard Android buttons present near the display are backlit in white.

The Enjoy 7 has a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display screen with a resolution of 800x480 pixels bearing excellent responsiveness, colors and brightness. Having very good tactile feedback, the power button and volume button are rested on the side. The lower edge houses the mini USB port (charging and data connectivity), a mini HDMI port as well as a covered microSD slot.

Menacingly, the glossy bezel around the tablet is a fingerprint magnet and the viewing angles are also an issue. Viewing at an angle of more than 45-degrees leads to loss of colors and visibility - a big issue if something on the screen is to be shown to multiple people.

Under the hood, it has a 1.2 GHz processor,

Nikon Coolpix P300-full-review-features-price-in-india

Nikon Coolpix P300

The Nikon Coolpix P300 looks to fill a gap towards the top end of the compact camera market that hasn’t been occupied with a worthy Coolpix model to date. Enter the Nikon Coolpix P300: a small, 12.2-megapixel compact with a 24-100mm F/1.8-4.9 image stabilised lens.

For a long time the high-end compact market has been dominated by Canon’s hold - with models such as the recent PowerShot S95. At a glance, the Nikon P300 is almost a visual carbon copy: it’s roughly the same size, shape and of a similar layout. Although this is seemingly the “inspiration” of the P300’s birth, it would be wrong to assume the two models as direct competitors. Alike though they may appear, but on the inside the P300 doesn’t quite match up to its competitive Canon model. Why? It’s all down to sensor size: the Nikon P300 has a 1/2.33 inch sensor, smaller than the 1/1.7 inch one found in the Canon S95.

A series of other features may also find those seeking truly high-end control looking elsewhere: there’s no manual focus capability, no hotshoe for an external viewfinder and no RAW capture option either. However, step down a notch in product positioning and the P300 is a tough cookie in the enthusiast sector. Look for the likes of the Samsung WB2000 and there’s a more immediate comparison in terms of control and layout as well as price sensibility.

When the P300 gets it right it really delivers. The top mode dial means immediate selection of shooting modes is a breeze and the twin thumbwheel-like controls (thumbwheel on top; rotational d-pad on the rear) make setting up manual shooting equally as simple. Aperture and Shutter Priority meet Program Auto and full Manual modes, plus Auto, Easy Panorama and Scene settings, in addition to both Backlighting and Night Landscape on the mode dial itself.

There are few controls on the rear and, although there’s a one-touch movie button, there’s no Function (Fn) button to be found anywhere on the body for quick adjustment of settings. As few settings show on the camera’s screen itself this feels like a drawback - even more standard compacts have on-screen quick menus to dash between ISO, metering setup and the like (including other Nikon Coolpix cameras). While those physical mode dials and thumbwheels are certainly on point, the P300 could really do with that extra user-assignable button for yet more control.

Design-wise the camera may look a tad “boxy”, though its small, trim size will easily slip into a bag or pocket to be carried anywhere - and that’s one of the prime features of a camera such as this. On the rear is a 3-inch, 920K-dot LCD screen that’s of a good resolution, though no viewfinder is built in or available for the camera. This may pose an issue in bright sunlight where the screen’s visibility may be reduced due to reflections or fingerprinting on the screen itself. This is a common feature for any compact, however, not just the P300.

Put the P300 to use and its autofocus ability is one of the stronger areas that offers an abundance of options: Face Priority; Auto (9 area); Manual (99 user-selectable points); Center; Subject Tracking; and Face Priority Tracking. Focus is generally swift, though lower light can throw up issues from time to time. The biggest drawback is how centrally the focus area is arranged, as it leaves borders around the edge of the image that are “no go areas” as far as focusing is concerned.

Pop the P300 into macro mode and prepare to be impressed yet more: it’s able to focus as close as 3cm from the lens when at its widest-angle setting. Add to that the F/1.8 aperture and it’s possible to get some close-up, shallow depth of field shots that look top drawer indeed. The F/1.8-4.9 lens is clearly one of the camera’s top specs and, in this department, does provide a very similar specification to the Canon S95.

Burst mode is another high-flying specification too. Capable of shooting at 8fps (though only up to a total of 7 frames per burst) at full resolution, you can expect to capture unfolding action in a flash. However, autofocus won’t keep up with a burst as it’s a single-point of acquired focus. This may pose issues due to no manual focus control, meaning fast subjects speeding by may be gone before focus is achieved and the burst of shots reeled off.

Then, of course, the Coolpix P300 has a 1080p HD movie mode that puts another big tick in the box. At the full high-def resolution the cameras captures MOV files at 30fps for smooth playback. There are other options for 720p capture at 60fps or even 1080p at 15fps for varied playback too.

Image quality
The Nikon Coolpix P300 produces reasonable images, but the 1/2.33 sensor is the same size as that found in an average compact camera. On the upside the wiring has been moved to the back of the sensor’s construction to make for a better and more direct light path, so this does, in part, help take image quality up a notch. However, against the truly premium high quality compacts such as the Canon S95 or Panasonic LX5, the Nikon P300 can’t quite compete at such a level.

With the ability to shoot images from ISO 160-3200, there’s an avoidance of super-high ISO settings just for the sake of it. Instead the majority of options provide useable images, though above ISO 400 quality does take a bit of a dip. As processing becomes more aggressive to counter image noise, so softness prevails - above ISO 800 things lack the detail that you need for more critical shots.

The bottom line is this: if you want the best image quality from a compact then you need to look towards a higher-spec range to a larger sensor model and should anticipate paying around £400. For the £300 (RRP) that the Coolpix P300 costs it’s a different league and should be considered as such. Images are fine but, excluding the F/1.8 aperture, a lot of other compacts will easily achieve comparable image quality for even less cash.

Sony-CyberShot-DSC-WX10-full-review-price-in-india-features

The camera has a 16.2 megapixel effective resolution from a 1/2.3-type back illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, pictures written to a choice of Memory Stick Pro Duo or SD, SDHC or SDXC media cards which share a slot at the base.

Design
For us though, if you don’t need the destruction proofing, the WX10 has the edge for style - something the Cyber-shot range has long majored in. Feeling sturdy in the palm too thanks to a largely metal build, and marginally wider than the most svelte of compacts, the WX10 offers portable dimensions of 95 x 53.5 x 23.3mm plus a weight of 126g when housing card and battery.

It’s not merely a pretty fascia however. On the WX10 we also get SteadyShot image stabilised 7x optical zoom, so it almost strays into “travel zoom” territory, with a wideangle 24-168mm focal range in 35mm terms and bright F/2.4 maximum lens aperture. Happily the optical zoom can be deployed when shooting video too, but it’s far slower to move through the focal range than when framing up a still photo - no doubt to cut down on any distracting mechanical noise.

Said video here is Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels utilising AVCHD compression, though there’s a resolution drop to 1440 x 1080 if opting for the slightly more widely compatible MPEG4 capture instead. Stereo sound is provided courtesy of twin microphones sunk into the top plate while a dedicated camcorder style record button features on the Sony’s backplate. Indeed, while from the front the camera looks trĂ©s chic, at the back the accent is on beginner friendliness, courtesy of dime-sized eight option shooting mode wheel and multi directional control pad. The attendant display, menu and delete/camera manual buttons do however almost require a microscope to find.

HDMI output for hooking up to a flat panel TV is offered via a side flap, whilst AV and USB connectivity is via a joint unprotected port at the base. There’s barely any concession to a handgrip on the WX10, just a sloping edge to the side of the faceplate, the thumb coming to rest on a familiar shooting mode dial top right hand side of the backplate. Though we didn’t feel in danger of dropping it, our fingers did skate around a bit.

Beetel MagiQ BMQ-01-review-full-specs-price-cheap-tablet

Beetel MagiQ BMQ-01

For a 7-inch tablet, the Magiq tablet from Beetel has an unorthodox shape. It has Android buttons on one side of the display and because it also functions as a phone, there are call receive /end buttons with an optical trackpad on the other side. The buttons are not touch sensitive. Rather, they are physical buttons that need to be pressed. Button placement and screen aspect seem to the primary reason for the elongated shape as compared to the usual crop of 7-inch tablets from Samsung, Olive and HTC. At the back, there is a kickstand to place the tablet upright – useful when watching videos or using it as a digital photo frame. On the side is the volume rocker, speaker grills, microUSB port and a power adapter port.

On top is the power button and a 3.5mm audio jack. The 7-inch display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels — quite low compared to the 1024x768 resolution offered by some of the competition. Also, the display is resistive & requires slight pressure to operate. It lacks multi-touch so no pinch to zoom is available. For the price, a resistive display is expected and for those who experience a tablet for the first time, it will not be a disappointment. The Magiq runs a 1Ghz processor with 512MB RAM and comes with 8GB of storage expandable via microSD cards (up to 16GB supported ). Kudos to Beetel as they have managed to provide hardware specifications that even smartphones don't offer in the same price range. It runs Android 2.2 with a custom interface. You get one-touch access to brightness, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings right on the homescreen.

Instead of the usual Android notification bar, you get a notification icon. The icon flashes to get your attention and tapping it brings up a split screen view showing new notifications and a task manager. There are 10 homescreens to swipe through that are placed under 5 different categories. It comes preloaded with a task manager, file manager, Documents to Go (Full version ) and other social networking apps as well. Although, Beetel will not be updating the tablet to Android 2.3. The Magiq had no problem running multiple applications (including games and multiple browser windows ). It also played 720p videos without a hitch using a third party media player. However, the tablet fails to deliver on battery life. It lasted about 3 hours on a full charge with Wi-Fi connected while being used for a mix of things including web, games and music.

The dual 2MP cameras took just average shots with a lot of noise visible across photos. The dual speakers are nice and loud though (for both calls and other audio). As a budget tablet, the Magiq offers a lot and does not feel 'cheap' . It can be used as a phone, provides 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, runs Android 2.2 and offers good specifications. However, the resistive display may not be to everyone's tastes. It is not as smooth as a capacitive display to use, though it is sturdier. Another turn off is the proprietary power adapter. Since this is a sub- 10,000 tablet, there's not much competition other than the Mercury mTab. The mTab offers a capacitive display, but the Magiq has better build quality and overall specs.

Canon-Powershot-S95-features-full-review-price-in-india

Design
Very unassuming looking, the squarish S95 is matte black (think laptop finish), and at 2.3 by 3.9 by 1.2 inches (HWD), it's toward the top of the compact camera size spectrum. The camera's body is loaded with scroll wheels, which makes the shooting experience feel almost D-SLR-like. One ring sits around the base of the lens where it meets the body, and another is to the right of the LCD—it makes for a nice, two-handed manual shooting experience. The rings can be assigned to control aperture and shutter speed, or they can be reprogrammed to control a number of other functions (ISO sensitivity, exposure, focus, etc.). You also have the option to shoot in fully automatic mode with face detection.

The 3-inch LCD on the back of the camera is stellar. The average 3-inch camera display is made up of 230,000 dots; the S95 doubles that to 460,000, so images on the screen are incredibly crisp and sharp. The LCD shows virtually no motion blur, and offers great contrast with dark blacks. Using it as both a viewfinder and for image playback was a pleasure. There's a pop up flash up top.

The lens is the biggest draw here, with a focal range of 28-105mm (35mm equivalent), it offers just 3.75x optical zoom. But this lens isn't about zoom—it's about light. In its wide-angle position (28mm), the aperture can open all the way to f/2, so it lets in a lot of light, which is key for shooting in low light without a flash.

The bright f/2 lens is paired with an image sensor that's very large for a compact camera. A few compact Panasonic cameras, like the Lumix DMC-FX700 ($399.95, 4 stars), have nearly-as-bright f/2.2 lenses, but the FX700's image sensor (roughly 25mm²) is less than half the size of the S95's.

Performance
The S95 takes an average of 2.33 seconds to boot and shoot, you'll wait an average of 2.78 seconds between shots, and shutter lag averages just .55 seconds, so the S95 feels very fast. Those are all good speed scores for a compact camera, but they're nowhere near a Micro Four Thirds camera like the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2 ($699.95, 4 stars), or the Sony NEX-3. These cameras' shutter lag clocks in closer to 0.10 seconds, and they can shoot at 2.40 and 2.30 frames per second (respectively).

Nikon Coolpix S9100 Superzoom Camera-features-full-review-price-in-india

The S9100 compact superzoom offers a 25mm wide-angle to 450mm telephoto coverage and is one amongst the first Coolpix cameras to feature a Nikkor ED glass lens. Big on features it offers 1080p HD video recording, HD output, 360/180 degrees panorama modes and a creative slider to adjust images while shooting. Night Portrait and Night Landscape scene modes make it easier to photographs at night with the combination of a 12MP back illuminated CMOS sensor that is designed for better low-light photography.

The S9100 is notable for its greatly improved image quality compared to the S8000, and unusually consistent optical quality, which remains high all the way from 25-450mm (equivalent). Perhaps more importantly, the S9100's Hybrid VR mode does an excellent job of delivering sharp images, even at 450mm (equivalent). The only major weak point of the S9100 is its lack of meaningful exposure control compared to most of its travel zoom competitors. On the plus side, its automatic modes work very well, and of course exposure compensation is on hand if the camera's metering system doesn't quite give the results that you want.

Nikon S9100 Camera Features:
18X zoom with wide-angle 25mm to super-telephoto 450mm Nikkor Lens
Superior high-speed continuous shooting performance
3.3” inch 21k-dot TFT LCD monitor with wide viewing angle
Night Portrait mode: Several shots are captured to reduce blur and noise in the background, and one shot using the flash is captured to ensure a bright portrait subject
Easy Panorama mode: Create dynamic vertical or horizontal panorama photos.
Full-HD movies with stereo sound
